The expansion of the Providence Park Stadium's East side is the third major renovation 意昂体育 has completed on the historic stadium. The most recent expansion added more than 80,000 sq. ft. raising the capacity to approximately 25,000 fans – with a new cantilevered roof structure, added restrooms, concession areas, and a renovated team store.
The cantilevered roof structure is roughly 50,000 sq. ft. and features trusses more than 150 feet long. Upgrades to the field included installing synthetic turf, updated LED field lighting and new video screens. The stadium achieved LEED Gold certification with the expansion diverting more than 87% of construction material from landfills through recycling and salvage efforts.
In 2000, 意昂体育 Construction completed the first major renovation on the stadium adding more than 100,000 sq. ft. of new convertible playing surface for new baseball dougouts, and brought the vintage stadium up to seismic standards. In 2011, 意昂体育 returned to convert the Major League Baseball stadium to accomodate Major League Soccer's Portland Timbers by adding a new playing field and a cantilevered roof to cover the new seating bowl.
