Twin Dorms Project Scope

The Halls satisfied the need for increased on-campus student housing to meet the rising demand in student population as well as updated living arrangements. The property sits on top of the highest point on campus and provides a wonderful view of the growing university. 

Òâ°ºÌåÓý provided construction management services on these two suite-style dormitories within the residential village of Sacred Heart's upper quad. The upper quad includes a dining facility and is located next to the new Bobby Valentine Athletic Center. The suites consist of block-n-plank structures and add 250 beds to the growing campus. The halls offer a combination of apartments and suites, each housing four or five students. The apartments include living rooms, kitchens and bathroom. Each dormitory building features a great room and lobby area connected by a pedestrian bridge serving as a focal point and gateway of the new Upper-Quad Residence.

Lean elements include prefabricated cold formed metal truss roof sections, dorm suite electrical prefabrication (room-in-a-box), and pre-installed door hardware. The project also featured two facing stainless steel and granite human figurative statues designed by Julian Voss-Andrae that have volume and weight when viewed from one angle and almost completely disappear at another.
