A Display of Automotive Art Redefines the Showroom Concept

Sonic Automotive sought to expand its presence in central Houston with a new five-story Porsche dealership and showroom. With a prime location adjacent to U.S. Route 59 and minutes from downtown, Porsche River Oaks takes advantage of its high visibility site. The Design Build team of Òâ°ºÌåÓý and Gensler overcame the challenges associated with a long and narrow site to design and construct a new 165,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art five-level dealership and showroom. Going vertical not only helped to give visibility to passersby on the raised highway but also led to a very efficient program and layout. To further maximize the use of the constrained site, most levels were designed to be multi-functional and fulfill several required elements including showroom and sales, new car delivery, and parking and inventory.
