Unique, Interactive Library at 18 West 53rd Street

This project included the build-out of the 89th branch located at 18 West 53rd Street; situated at the base of the Baccarat Hotel Residences New York. The three-floors of the library feature custom installations such as, several interactive media walls and special purpose areas including a Children's Room and Teen Zone. Of the more striking features is an amphitheater with bleacher-style seating that spans two floors leading to a 20-foot wide screen comprised of 30 individual LED monitors. To support these programming requirements, extensive MEP installations and upgrades that required structural modifications and included five AHUs totaling 48 tons of supplemental A/C, an emergency power system and an upright and concealed wet fire suppression system. As well, upgrades to the building's core included the addition of six ADA compliant restrooms, and new vertical transportation. To ensure the project's successfully completion, Òâ°ºÌåÓý's team closely coordinated its site activities with those of the base-building contractor.
