Sonic Automotive relocated the Momentum BMW dealership to the former location of a Sears department store on Southwest Freeway, following this adaptive-reuse renovation of the facility. The 180,000 sq. ft. renovation of the old department store building was carried out in several phases. The remodel involved a complete demolition and abatement of the building’s interior, as well as demolition and enhancement of exterior features. 意昂体育 oversaw the building of a new showroom and sales gallery, service shop and service drive, as well as the building’s exterior. With more than 200 employees, 96 service bays, and the largest parts warehouse in Texas, the operation became the largest BMW store in Texas.
The project also included the construction of a new parts department and support spaces. The new facility allows Momentum BMW MINI to combine everything under one roof for the first time.
The Adaptive Reuse project was awarded with the Associated Builders and Contractors of Greater Houston – 2020 Excellence in Construction Awards 2020 – ICE Award in the Commercial category.
