The new, state-of-the-art, 68,000 sq. ft. Infant Development Center on AdventHealth’s (formerly Shawnee Mission Health’s) Campus in Merriam, Kansas replaced the previous Lee Ann Britain Center. The new facility provides spaces for physical, occupational, and musical therapy, a large multi-sensory environment (MSE) treatment room, dedicated feeding therapy spaces, 21 early learning classrooms, speech language pathologists, early childhood special education teachers, behavior analysts, social workers and paraprofessionals, accessible indoor and outdoor playgrounds, 10 rooms featuring Variety KC Compass Harness Systems, and two aquatic therapy pools, including one multi-sensory pool. The facility accommodates over 600 children enrolled in early learning each year and is the largest child care center in Kansas.
