“Be Grand Reforma will be the first and highest residential structure in this neighborhood and will feature the deepest foundation wall in Mexico,” said Carlos Duarte, director of construction for Òâ°ºÌåÓý International’s Mexican operations. “It will support the building from 212 feet below ground level.” He added that the deep dig is necessary to accommodate eight levels of underground parking—an important amenity for future residents—but is inherently challenging for a number of reasons, from soil conditions to seismic requirements. 

“We’ll be using the top-down approach to build the parking garage due the high water table location and the soil conditions of the Mexico basin,” he explained, adding that the site falls within a zone that sees a high level of seismic activity. “Because of this extensive excavation process, during the first 24 months, passers-by won’t see much progress on the ground,” he said. “But after that the superstructure will start to emerge. We’re looking forward to delivering an iconic project for the city.” 

In addition to eight levels of underground parking, the 1.6 million square-foot project features 11 levels of offices, 26 levels of residences, four levels of high-end residences known as Sky Villas, a rooftop with extensive views, and support spaces.
