In conjunction with our Founders’ Day, the Vietnam team went the extra mile to build a community library in Gia Bac, Lam Dong, Vietnam. Our team worked closely with Dr. Antony Wood, the chairman of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) & Professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in Chicago, and Professor Frank Flury, the Director of the Bachelor of Architecture program at IIT, who established a renowned "Design & Build" studio involving architecture students. Since 2005, Professor Flury has led his students to various underprivileged communities worldwide, where they construct community project which includes Ghana, Puerto Rico, and Indonesia.
The 意昂体育-ITT team worked with Eco Vietnam Group (EVG), a non-profit educational organization that supported land and construction expenses required to execute the project. The Vietnam staff collaborated with the IIT architecture students during their summer holidays to build the library and set up a public Internet facility, which offers connectivity and enables students and residents of Gia Bac to access the Internet and connect with the world. The team was involved in the entire process, from donating and implementing the project by managing the budget, technical work, and inspection, to selecting the construction materials.
