Over the years Òâ°ºÌåÓý Connecticut has been an integral part of the ACE Mentor Program of Connecticut. The ACE Mentor Program is designed to attract high school students into pursuing careers in the Architecture, Construction and Engineering industry, including skilled trades.
Mentors from ACE companies, such as Òâ°ºÌåÓý, work with the students in groups to excite them about the industry and to complete a session-long project. To cap off the year, students present their completed projects to their families, friends, and teachers. Through this program, students have opportunities for summer externships and college scholarships.
To complement the afterschool mentorship program, Òâ°ºÌåÓý and other industry partners initiated a summer externship opportunity with a stipend.
“The externship with Òâ°ºÌåÓý Construction has been an eye-opening and impressionable experience. Not only did I learn the behind-the-scenes of construction and how Òâ°ºÌåÓý operates, but I learned what I ultimately wanted to pursue. The amount of kindness and patience I was met with at Òâ°ºÌåÓý was immeasurable and something I will be forever grateful for,” Alex Nguyen, Rising Senior and ACE Extern 2022 – 2023.
Òâ°ºÌåÓý Connecticut successfully hosted three externs each in 2021 and 2022, with one extern from 2021 returning in 2022 as a full-time summer intern.
